Identify the quality of masking tape

The quality of most masking paper manufacturers is good, but some people will use inferior tape to pretend to be. Let’s talk about identifying the quality of masking tape.
Colored masking tapes are used for marking and masking purposes, and generally beige and khaki are more common. Many people think that the colored tape is the color of the film, but the color is actually the color of the glue. Pinch the adhesive tightly and then quickly pull it apart, you can pull off the glue on one side, and you can see the purity and transparency of the original film. The most important thing is to see the thickness of the glue. If there is no glue to be pulled apart or dotted, there are a lot of impurities in the glue, and the glue has no cohesion. The second is that there is too much water and has volatilized. At this time, the initial adhesion of this tape has dropped significantly, and the hand feel can be distinguished. Cover the object with yellow tape, the better the masking, the thicker the glue and the better the quality. Compared with the appearance of the tape, there is less glue on it, and the color of the whole roll of the doped tape is very dark, and the tape has high light transmittance after being pulled apart. The color of the whole roll of good adhesive tape is not much different from the color after being pulled apart, because good adhesive tape has strong masking properties, and there is no color superimposition. A good tape adopts the method of soft-cut transfer and gluing, and there is no line situation (the ink leakage and less printing of the printing tape are related to the printing machine). Another way to distinguish is to look at the surface of the tape. There are bubbles when the tape has just been stripped into finished products. After a week of storage, the bubbles will basically dissipate. The tape mixed with impurities has many irregularly distributed white spots, which cannot be dispersed by hand pressure, which is different from air bubbles.
The most important condition for distinguishing good or bad masking tape is not to feel the viscosity alone, because the initial adhesion of the doped tape is very high when it is not volatilized, so stick the object with tape and then pull it away quickly Look at the holding power, paste it several times and then touch it with your hands, you will obviously feel that the stickiness has decreased. Doped tapes are usually dissolved with gasoline and acid when making glue formulations, so the smell is very strong. Regular large companies use toluene to dissolve, and they have been volatilized by the fan during the coating process. The tape paper tubes produced by formal enterprises all use high-density paper tubes, no paper scraps on the cut surface, and the thickness of the paper tube is 3 mm for tapes below 100 meters, and 4-5 mm for tapes above 100 meters. Thick paper tubes are used for production, usually with a thickness of 5-7 mm, so they are relatively large in appearance, but the thickness of the glue is obviously compared. Therefore, when choosing the tape, be sure to check the width of the masking tape and the thickness of the tape. In addition, note that because the inferior tape is mixed with a lot of impurities, there are imperceptible gaps between the tapes when they are rolled up in strips, so the same meter In the case of a large number, the volume will be relatively large, thereby deceiving consumption.
